Bringing nature and people together, our country parks deserve to be celebrated!

With funding from a Welsh Government grant – Local Places for Nature – the heart of Wrexham’s country parks has been captured in a collection of videos.

These videos give you a quick glimpse of what nature has to offer across the county borough – whether it’s a gentle stroll, run, cycle or family picnic, Wrexham’s country parks provide amazing spaces for it all!

Each park boast unique features: visit the small animals and the River Dee at Ty Mawr Country Park, discover cycling opportunities at Alyn Waters Country Park, or if you’re feeling brave, the BMX track at Ponciau Banks Park. Get close to the ducks at Stryt Las Country Park and Acton Park, or get some exercise in the fresh air at the outdoor gym at Bellevue Park. Enjoy a stroll along the looping, flat tarmac paths in many parks, go off-piste and explore hidden corners of the woods in Moss Valley Country Park, or conquer the hill at Bonc Y Hafod for panoramic views. Whatever your style, the parks cater to all.

Wrexham Council’s park rangers, open spaces team and street scene dedicate many hours to the upkeep of Wrexham’s beautiful country parks for visitors to enjoy all year round.

Cllr Terry Evans, lead member for environmental services, said: “We hope you enjoy watching our park videos and that they inspire you to get outdoors soon. Maybe you’ll spot something new on the videos that you’ve not seen before in your local park, or perhaps you’ll make a plan to discover a new park this summer. Whether a regular local, or a new visitor, the parks are waiting to welcome you. We hope you enjoy your visit!”

Each video can be found on Wrexham Council’s parks and countryside webpage.
