In partnership between Wrexham library services, Wrexham Carnival of Words, Gwella libraries and Mold Book Shop, Clwyd Crime is a celebration of all things murder mystery, crime and thriller.

Running from Wednesday, November 5, until Friday, November 7, the festival has something for every armchair sleuth with the programme in store.

The A-list suspects

With events held in both Welsh and English, a star-studded line up of crime writers will grace the venues hosting the festival.

The proceedings begin on November 5th with bestselling author Vaseem Khan. He will be visiting both Wrexham and Mold libraries that day.

Many other well-loved names of the genre are set to celebrate with avid readers including Simon McCleave, Alan Johnson, Sarah Ward, Meleri Wyn James, Sonia Edwards, Alis Hawkins and Sion Tecwyn.

As part of the partnership, the events will be held between the libraries here in Wrexham and Mold. Be sure to check out further details for all the events and to purchase tickets from the website here.

Below are some highlights from the festival that are taking place in Wrexham library.

  • Wednesday 5th November – 6 p.m. – Vaseem Kan
  • Thursday 6th November – 5 p.m. – Siôn Tecwyn
  • Friday 7th November – 2 p.m. – Meleri Wyn James
  • Friday 7th November – 7 p.m. – Alan Johnson

Councillor Beverley Parry-Jones, lead member for Corporate and Customer Services said: “It is always a cause for celebration when a new event emerges in Wrexham. To see the launch of Clwyd Crime literary festival is amazing. I am sure it will be a resounding success as we have a great tradition of well attended literary events here in our city. This will no doubt go from strength to strength and I look forward to seeing it flourish”.
