Currently, if you contact your local library or local community resource centre by phone you call a number for the specific branch.
From Tuesday 19 May, 2026 we’re introducing a single number to call for all library and resource centre enquiries.
The new number will be 01978 292090. This is currently the number just for Wrexham library in the city centre, but from May 19 it will be the number to contact any of our library branches or resource centres in Wrexham County Borough.
After the change
- From 19 May to 11 August if you try calling an old number at first, you’ll hear a message advising you about the change then you will be automatically transferred to the new helpline.
- After 11 August, if you try to call an old library or resource centre number you will hear a message to say the number is no longer available and to dial 01978 292090, after which the call will end.
- When you get through on the new helpline you’ll speak to our contact centre team first, then they will put you through to the branch you request or be able to assist in your enquiry
- Calls will be answered between Monday-Friday 8.30am-6pm and Saturday 9am – 4pm – however some of the local libraries have different opening hours
As always, you can also email each specific venue with any queries you have (available books or upcoming events for example). You can find email addresses listed under the local libraries and community centres webpages.
If you know someone who prefers to contact their library or resource centre by phone (rather than email, or checking online information) then please let them know about this change.
