Could you lead a department of 300 people, manage a multi-million pound budget, and make a great little part of the world even better?

If you think you could (and you’re looking for a really rewarding job), you might want to read this…

Inspire the people who look after our streets

We’re looking for a Chief Officer to head up our Environment and Technical Department.

Someone who can lead and inspire the people who look after our streets, our roads and our country parks, the people who collect our rubbish and keep us recycling, and lots of other employees that help look after our county.

For the right person, this is a great career opportunity and a chance to make a difference to the lives of 135,000 people.

How many jobs can offer that?

Work for Wrexham Council

Councillor Mark Pritchard, Leader of Wrexham Council, says: “People in Wrexham deserve the best services, and that means getting the best people to come and work here.

“We need someone who has the experience and know-how to lead a large department, and take responsibility for some of our most visible work – services that touch the lives of pretty much every household in the county.

“This is a really important job, but also a great opportunity for the right person.”

So where is Wrexham?

Wrexham is a good place to be. It’s not perfect and it’s got its critics…same as anywhere else. But it’s a good place to be.

If you didn’t know, Wrexham is in North Wales…bang on the border with England.

Thanks to good road links, we’re less than an hour away from Manchester and Liverpool. And just a hop away from the beautiful North Wales coast.

We’ve got a university, one of the best further education colleges in the UK, and we’re home to some of Britain’s most successful businesses – from global brands like JCB to market-leaders like Moneypenny.

We’ve also got an amazing World Heritage Site – Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Canal.

Got the skills?

So…are you ready to be part of a dynamic new leadership team in Wrexham, working on behalf of residents?

Chief Executive, Ian Bancroft, says: “We’re looking for someone with excellent knowledge and skills, gained in a similar customer-facing organisation.

“If you’re the right person, you’ll join a workforce committed to working on behalf of Wrexham and its people.

“This is a key role, and both the council and public will expect a lot from you. But you won’t be on your own – we’ll take collective responsibility and provide you with strong support.

“For the right person, this is a really rewarding senior management role in a friendly and forward-thinking council. ”
