April is the Month of the Military child, which highlights the important role Service children play in the Armed Forces community.
It is a time to applaud Armed Forces families and their children for the daily sacrifices they make and the challenges they overcome.
This Friday April 28th is ‘Purple Up’ day encourages schools to decorate with purple dandelion themed artwork, wear purple for school and raise money for the Armed Forces charity.
In recognition of ‘purple up’ day the Guildhall will be illuminated on Friday 28th April, to mark the day.
Armed Forces champion, Cllr Beverley Parry Jones said: “Wrexham has a long and proud history of supporting the armed forces, this Friday we will acknowledge the important role that young people play in the Armed Forces Community.”
