Wrexham Council is offering free cycling courses to help adults or families gain confidence on our roads thanks to Welsh Government funding.
The courses will be delivered by Seiclo Clwyd Ltd, who deliver our cycle training courses in schools across the county. Their instructors are all qualified National Standards Cycling Instructors, and they are trained first aiders and hold an enhanced DBS certificate.
You will need a roadworthy bike. A cycling helmet is strongly recommended. Dress appropriately for the weather e.g. waterproofs and gloves – or loose clothing and sun cream if it’s sunny!
Access to Wrexham Council owned cycles and helmets could be organised as long as Seiclo Clwyd are provided with enough time and information.
Please remember to bring water and food/snacks to ensure good levels of concentration!
The courses will start with basic cycle handling away from traffic, progressing to quiet streets and then busier routes.
The courses will be limited to six riders per course and will start at 9:30am on the following dates, and will take up to four hours:
- Thursday, August 14 in Gwersyllt
- Friday, August 15 in Bradley
- Thursday, August 21 in Bellevue Park
- Friday, August 22 in Bellevue Park
