Arriva Bus Wales has announced a variation to the route of their bus service 4A and 4C serving Rhos, Penycae (including Afoneitha Estate) and Rhostyllen with effect from Sunday 1st September 2024.

The planned change will re-introduce a scheduled bus service in Rhostyllen village along Henblas Road and Vicarage Hill.  Upon reaching Johnstown buses will continue to serve Stryt Las but will then route via Gardden Road before continuing their journey towards the Penycae area and Rhosllanerchrugog.  On the return journey towards Wrexham, buses will return via Gardden Road and Rhostyllen village.

Councillor David A Bithell, Deputy Leader and Lead Member for Strategic Transport, said “I welcome the introduction of an existing bus service back into streets and settlements that have previously been served by public transport.

“Our proactive working relationship that we have with Arriva Bus Wales, identified an opportunity to improve the bus route, thus making local bus services easier to access for people within the local community”.

Adam Marshall, Area Head of  Commercial Arriva North West & Wales added “Following customer feedback, and after consideration by our network team, a proposal was put to Wrexham Council that we felt would better serve the local residents by making some minor changes to the existing bus route.

“We are delighted that the Council were receptive of our suggestion and supported our proposed route change.  The change is due to come into effect from Sunday 1 September and whilst the times of bus services are not changing, the latest information can be found on our website at www.arrivabus.co.uk/wales”
