The children’s winter coat appeal is back, with residents being encouraged to donate good-quality coats they no longer need to help keep local children warm this winter.
The Wellbeing Hub is accepting donations of children’s winter coats for ages 4-16, which should be clean and in good condition.
Whether it’s a coat your child has grown out of or one that is simply no longer being used, donating it could give it a new lease of life while helping another family in Wrexham.
The annual appeal has already shown the difference that donated coats can make.
Last year, 156 children received a winter coat through the appeal, with coats distributed through local schools, third-sector organisations and council services.
Councillor Rob Walsh, Lead Member for Children’s and Family Services said, “A warm coat is something every child should have as we head into the colder months, and this appeal is a way for people across Wrexham to make a real difference to local families.
Last year, the appeal helped 156 children, which shows just how valuable these donations can be.
If you have a children’s coat at home that is clean, in good condition and no longer needed, I encourage you to consider donating it and helping another child stay warm this winter.”
The scheme helps make sure children have suitable warm clothing during the colder months, while also offering practical support to families facing additional pressures on household budgets.
With winter approaching once again, residents are being asked to support this years appeal and help ensure more children across Wrexham can stay warm.
