Come have a Grow at Tŷ Pawb!

Come join us on the rooftop garden at Tŷ Pawb on Saturday 1 June 12-2pm to go green and get growing this Summer.

We have everything you need to ‘bloom’ however big or small your growing space may be. Whether you have a large garden or a small window box come pick up some free vegetable and flower seeds, get expert advice and if you’re feeling green fingered get stuck into some gardening.

You can also join in our sunflower growing competition by picking up some sunflower seeds and helping them to grow all summer. The tallest sunflower we receive will win a prize!

All you need to do is grow a sunflower, then take a measurement of the height as well as a photo and send it in to Nicola.ellis@wrexham.gov.uk by 31 August 2024.

Our Have a Grow day is helping us celebrate Britain in Bloom 2024 and the theme this year is ‘friendship’ so we’re encouraging people to get involved in our friendship themed community art project. We want to find out what friendship means to you and display this in a fabulous, flower inspired art installation in Ty Pawb. Come create your own ‘friendship flower’ and add to this community ‘daisy chain’ we are making.

Cllr Terry Evans, Lead member for Environment said ‘We recognise the important health and wellbeing benefits that can be made whilst being outdoors, gardening and getting closer to nature which is why gardening groups such as the Tŷ Pawb rooftop garden are a fantastic way to build that relationship with people and wildlife.’

Have a Grow Day takes place on Saturday 1 June between 12 and 2pm and Gloves and tools to help maintain the garden as well as refreshments will be provided.

Please wear sensible clothes and shoes for the weather, all children must be accompanied by an adult.
