“We need each other, and we can learn so much from each other. We can be diverse together.”
These are the words of Diverse Together, a new short film by North East Wales Regional Cohesion and Wrexham filmmaker Rob Corcoran. Diverse Together celebrates Wrexham, Flintshire and Denbighshire as places of welcome, and offers a positive perspective on living in a diverse community.

Cohesion Officer Gareth Hall explains: “Here in North East Wales, diversity isn’t something you see every time you walk down the street, but it’s always there. Every day our team engages with Polish, Chinese, Syrians, Africans, the LGBT community, people of all faiths and beliefs.
“When you experience that diversity, when you really get to know people, you realise we’re not so different – and we are better when we are together. That’s the message we wanted to share with this film.
Thank you to Rob at 73 Degree Films for putting this all together, and thanks to everyone in Wrexham, Flintshire and Denbighshire who took part and shared that message with us – this is a community film, and it’s the voices of our communities that give meaning to the words.”
This project is also endorsed by lead members of Wrexham, Flintshire and Denbighshire Council:
“Diverse Together reflects an ongoing commitment to support and celebrate the diversity of our communities in Wrexham, Flintshire and Denbighshire. By adding their voices to this message of welcome and inclusion, everyone who took part in this film showed they are proud to share that commitment. We are proud to share it with them.”
