There’s a wide variety of sporting groups in Wrexham, offering training on sports such as football, rugby, boxing, athletics, tennis and many more.

Are you a member of one of these many community sporting groups? Maybe you’re involved in running one?

If so, don’t miss out on the chance to get some extra funding, which could help out with everything from equipment to training.

The current round of applications closes at midnight on Wednesday, August 28.

Groups can apply for up to £1,500 per year.

Cllr Andrew Atkinson, Lead Member for Youth Services and Anti-Poverty, with responsibility for Leisure, said: “There are a lot of good sports and athletics groups out there which do excellent work in their community.

“The Community Chest is there to help those clubs get the extra resources they need. Those involved should make sure they don’t miss out.”
