Come and get a taste of the Eisteddfod in this FREE event for the whole family this weekend.
The Autumn Festival takes place across the city on 4-5 October, and will be a taste of what to expect when the Eisteddfod comes to the Wrexham area from 2-9 August next year.
The event is organized by the Eisteddfod with Menter Iaith Flint and Wrexham, and the full program includes live music and dance, children’s activities, performances by local schools, dance and drumming workshops, arts and crafts and much more – All FREE to attend.
Chief Executive of the Eisteddfod, Betsan Moses, said, “We are launching the Eisteddfod year with the Autumn Festival in Wrexham over the weekend. On Sunday, it will be 300 days until the Eisteddfod starts, so the timing is perfect for a weekend of activities for the whole family.
“We are looking forward to giving everyone a taste of the Festival, and there will be plenty of opportunity to hear more about our plans over the next year and to meet the crew who organize all the activities.”
Cllr Hugh Jones, Welsh Language Champion at Wrexham Council said: “With less than a year to go until Wrexham welcomes the largest cultural event in Europe, the excitement is really starting to build.
“Whether you’re a regular Eisteddfod goer or if you’ve never been to one of the events before, Eisteddfod Gŵyl yr Hydref will be an ideal taster for what lies ahead: a celebration of Welsh arts, language and culture with plenty to enjoy for all ages. I would encourage everyone to come and take part in what promises to be a fantastic weekend of activities.”
