We’ve got more improvement works on the way at two of our leisure and activity centres.

These works will be the latest in a long line of improvements to our centres, run in association with our partners Freedom Leisure.

Work will start at the Gwyn Evans Leisure and Activity Centre, Gwersyllt, from Monday, December 2.

The men and women’s changing rooms at the centre will be improved, with replacement shower fittings and new suspended ceilings, along with replacing the current lighting batons with new LED panels; replacing vanity units with new hair dryers and mirrors; and repainting walls, woodwork, decoration and cleaning.

The works should take about two weeks to complete.

Changes are also planned for the Waterworld Leisure and Activity Centre, Wrexham from Monday, December 16.

We’ll be replacing all the ceiling tiles in the wet change village with improved vinyl faces, and will also be changing the lighting for new LED panels. We’re not expecting the work to take any longer than a week – about four working days.

Andy Harris, Area Manager for Waterworld, said: “I’m glad to note that further works are in hand for our leisure and activity centres, and they will go some way to continuing to modernise our facilities and our offering to users, both in terms of convenience and presentation.

“We don’t plan on closing any of the facilities to accommodate the works, and users should be largely unaffected – though we will need to make use of the dry changing areas at Gwyn Evans to accommodate some of the refurbishment.”
