Films, bugs and headbands!

We are heading into week three of the holidays and this week is the big one – Playday 2019 has arrived!

Wednesday, August 7 sees the return of the biggest, wettest and messiest event in the calendar, but don’t worry if you can’t get there. There are still some great activities to get your children involved in.

Here is this week’s pick of the bunch!

August 3, 10am-12pm
Ty Pawb
Family Art Club
An artist-led session for children and their families to explore our galleries and develop imagination and making skills. This session is a family drop-in. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
£2 per child

August 5, 10.30am-12pm
Wrexham Museum
Messy Museum
Suitable for ages 3 and under.
We’ll be decorating ice lollies, buckets & spades in our beach themed session.   Call 01978 297460 for more information.
£2 per baby/toddler, accompanying adult free

Queens Square, Wrexham
Wrexham Playday 2019!
Playday is for people of all ages including babies and toddlers, older children, teenagers, parents, professionals and grandparents, all are invited to join in this free and playful event. Organisations involved in children’s play and playwork from across Wrexham will be coming together to provide a wide range of playful opportunities, including favourites like the giant sandpit, mass water fight, junk play and rope swings. All we ask is that you bring along a playful mood and some clothes you don’t mind getting wet and messy. In the past families have brought along picnics and stayed all afternoon!

Summer Family Film Club
Join us in our intimate cinema every Wednesday afternoon during the summer holidays for screenings of family classics! This week’s film will be ‘Moana’. Popcorn and drinks will be available beforehand. For more information or to book please contact: 01978 292093.

Junior Craft Class
Suitable for age 8+ (Adult supervision required for under 16s)

Sports and Games sessions
Suitable for ages 8-14
Meet at the bandstand for fun sports & activities. Call 01978 298997 for details.

Suitable for all ages

Bersham Ironworks
Family Open Day
We’re hosting a small family friendly event!! Various activities including a professional storyteller, guided tours of Bersham Ironworks, and a children’s trail. There will be a small fee for some activities. All activities will take place outside unless otherwise stated. Please ensure you bring drinking water as facilities are limited at this site.
