A properly fitted and maintained fire door could mean the difference between life and death.

With this in mind, we are once again we are supporting Fire Door Safety Week and are calling on landlords across the County Borough to make sure they check their properties and that tenants use the properly.

September 23–29, marks the week when the importance of fire safety doors is highlighted to both landlords and tenants.

During this week, we will also be:

  • encouraging landlords to carry out a fire risk assessment of their property using guidance and a template provided to us by North Wales Fire and rescue service
  • working to ensure both landlords and building owners make sure they’re not risking the lives of their tenants by having badly fitted, non-complaint or wrongly used fire doors

If you are a landlord and want to carry out a fire risk assessment on your properties you can download some useful information here.

There is also an easy to use 5 step checklist for Fire Safety Doors that can be used by anybody whether it be in your workplace, home or anywhere that fire safety doors are present: 5 STEP CHECK.
