A recall is when unsafe food is removed from the supply chain and consumers are advised to take appropriate action, for example to return or dispose of the unsafe food.
There are many reasons why a food product might be recalled, including a risk of food poisoning, problems identified with the manufacturing process, or labelling errors such as incorrect or missing allergen information.
