With the half term on the way, are you trying to think up of ways to keep the kids occupied?
We’ve got good news – you’re in luck!
The free swimming scheme will be open for kids aged 16 and younger at pools at Waterworld, Chirk and Gwyn Evans throughout the half term holidays.
Run in partnership between ourselves, Freedom Leisure and the Welsh Government, the free swimming scheme allows free access to local swimming pools during weekends throughout the year, and during school holidays.
Applicable to all children aged 16 and under, the initiative entitles visitors to free splash sessions at selected times at their pool (though times can vary between centres).
Take a look at this flyer for more information and the full list of availability and activity.
If you have children, they should be bringing the flyer home from school with them soon – and it will also include the free card you need in order to access free swimming sessions, so keep an eye out!
Cllr Andrew Atkinson, Lead Member for Youth Services and Anti-Poverty, with responsibility for Leisure, said: “Keeping children and young people occupied during the holidays can sometimes be difficult, but the the free swim scheme make sure there’s always something going on for them to get involved in – whether you’re looking to keep them exercised or just keep them occupied.
“Some of the sessions also allow for free swimming for the whole family (up to four people), so it’s well worth seeing what’s going on.
“And bear in mind once the holidays end, the scheme runs each weekend throughout the year – so there’s always a good time to get to your local pool!”
The closing date for 2019 nursery school applications is February 22
