The Nant Mill Fun Day and Duck Race is back for 2024. The day promises to be a fun filled family event, with bushcraft and nature, activities, name the teddy competition, face painting and much more.

Duck racing is set to start from 1.30 pm with ducks priced at £1 (cash only on the day). There will be several Duck Race heats with the winners from the heats taking to the water for one final race to crown the overall winner.

Tim Woodcock – Chair of Nant Mill Community Trust said about the event, “We are excited to bring you the Nant Mill Duck Race, working alongside Groundwork North Wales and the team behind the Clywedog Valley Partnership. It is always a fantastic fun filled day for everyone involved and we are really looking forward to welcoming you all to Nant Mill.”

Refreshments will be available on the day thanks to Coedpoeth WI, and the day’s activities are being supported by Coedpoeth Cubs and Scouts. Our thanks go to ASDA Coedpoeth, the Spar Coedpoeth and to the other local nature and heritage groups who’ll be joining us for supporting this event.

Raising funds to support the Nant Mill Community Trust

This event will be raising funds to support the Nant Mill Community Trust. Nant Mill Community Trust are part of the Clywedog Valley Partnership, led by Groundwork North Wales, which is a range of organisations and community groups all with an interest in the heritage of the Clywedog Valley where Nant Mill sits.

The Clywedog Valley Partnership is currently working with the local community to develop plans to restore and improve the heritage sites within the Clywedog Valley for visitors and wildlife, improve accessibility, create and refresh information and interpretation across the valley, and design programmes of community engagement and education for the future.

The team behind the Clywedog Valley Partnership will be available on the day to answer questions about the plans and are keen for the community to share feedback and ideas on what matters to them about the area (an online survey where you can share what matters to you about the Clywedog Valley is also available)

Parking is limited at Nant Mill so please use public transport where possible.

Cash only for all activities.

Planning on popping along? Let the team know by visiting the event page on the Groundwork North Wales Facebook page.

The event is possible thanks to development funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, thanks to National Lottery players, along with funding from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and support funding from partner organisations.
