We want to remind residents who are intending to subscribe to the 2021/22 garden waste collection service that they don’t need to do anything just yet.

Don’t try to renew before June 28Charge will remain at £25 per bin per yearNew stickers for renewalsNo cash or cheque payments

The 2021/22 scheme will run from Monday, August 30, 2021 until Friday, September 2, 2022 and the earliest date you can pay for this service in advance is Monday, June 28.

Don’t try to renew before June 28

Anyone who tries to pay for this service online before June 28 will be signing up to the 2020/21 service, which closes at the end of August.

Make sure you know about changes to Covid-19 restrictions in Wales

Charge will remain at £25 per bin per year

Darren Williams, Chief Officer Environment and Technical, said: “We are pleased to be able to freeze the cost of the service at £25 per green bin per year, which is less than many other authorities in England and Wales. Renewals will begin from Monday, June 28, and the best and most convenient way to pay for the service will be online at www.wrexham.gov.uk/gardenwaste. If this isn’t possible, you will be able to call 01978 298989 to make a card payment. However, we must stress again, please don’t attempt to pay for this service until renewals open on June 28. Thanks.”

New stickers for renewals

Residents who renew the service will be issued with a new sticker, which will need to be displayed clearly on your bin lid to ensure collections.

Please allow at least 10 working days to receive your new sticker pack from the date you renew.

No cash or cheque payments

Last year, we had a number of customers who attempted to pay for the service by sending cash and cheques to us. We must reiterate that we are unable to accept these payments.

???? Restrictions in Wales are gradually easing. Make sure you understand what you can and can’t do ????
