We want to remind residents who are subscribed to the garden waste collection service that we will be collecting your green bin(s) on a fortnightly basis again from next month (March).

Cllr David A Bithell, Lead Member for Environment and Transport, said: “We have been making garden waste collections on a reduced, monthly basis across December, January and February to free up staff to help us deal with problematic issues caused by the winter, such as gritting routes or general maintenance.

“As we move towards springtime – and hopefully towards some better weather – residents are more likely to be making use of their green bin(s), so these collections will revert back to being fortnightly from March onwards.”

Not signed up but now want to?

If you didn’t sign up for the garden waste collection service previously, but would now like us to collect your green bin(s) over spring and into summer, it’s not too late to sign up.

It costs £25 per bin, with our current service running until August 31, 2021, so you could still get 6 months’ worth of collections if you sign up soon.

You can sign up by visiting www.wrexham.gov.uk/gardenwaste which is the quickest and most convenient way. Alternatively, you can call 01978 298989 although you may experience a wait if you do so.

Get bin reminder alerts

You can keep an eye on when to put your garden waste bins out by signing up for our bin reminder alerts. You’ll get an email alert the day before they’re due to be collected to remind you. If you already receive these alerts, there’s no need for you to change anything.

Alternatively, you can download and print our up-to-date bin calendars.

You can also get information about your bin collections on My Account. It’s very easy to register and then you just need to click Services> Waste and Recycling> Check your bin day.

Make sure you’re receiving the correct alerts

Is the person who puts the bins out for your house set up to receive the correct alerts from us? If their email address isn’t the one that was used when you signed up for the garden waste collection service, all you need to do is complete our simple check your bin day form.

You only need to enter your postcode, address and email address and hit submit, doing this will automatically update our email reminder system and ensure you get the correct reminder.
