An award winning social enterprise which creates meaningful work placements and a real life work environment for young people with additional needs has opened its doors in Wrexham.

The low costs reflect the trainee status of those providing the treatments.

Jill Smith, owner, said, “I’m thrilled to be expanding into Wrexham after five successful years in Flintshire.

“The young people who attend Beyond the Boundaries salon will have a fantastic opportunity to gain work and life skills, accredited qualifications and  the transferable independent living skills needed to improve their quality of life as well as secure gainful employment.

“We’re looking forward to meeting many new customers and trainees alike and can’t wait to become established in Wrexham.”

Six of Jill’s placements have already gone on to secure paid employment and have had support from partners such as Communities 4 Work, Department of Work and Pensions, Flintshire Council Social Services and the voluntary sector.

Lead Member for Health and Adult Care, Cllr John Pritchard said, “I would like to welcome Jill to Wrexham and I know she will receive a very warm welcome. I wish her luck with her expansion and to hearing of her progress and that of the young adults who will benefit from this valuable training and work experience in the future. Good luck Jill!”
