And it’s our dedicated staff who help us achieve this 🙂

We’re investing more and more in our council housing, and that’s one of the reasons we’re looking for another strong team-member.

So if you’ve got the skills and the knowledge in these areas, and want to work in an exciting and busy service, you’ll want to hear this!

We’re currently advertising for a Health and Safety Compliance Officer to work in our housing repairs service within the Housing and Economy department.

If you’re enthusiastic, experienced and qualified, with a positive outlook, we’d love to hear from you!

Here’s a bit more info about the job…

What you’ll be doing

You’ll work alongside managers and supervisors to ensure our health, safety and welfare arrangements are strong.

You’ll make sure the service is compliant with its health and safety responsibilities, and look at ways to improve our compliance.

A BAD DEAL FROM WELSH GOVERNMENT MEANS WE’RE FORCED TO MAKE MORE CUTS. HAVE YOUR SAY…

You’ll investigate incidents and near misses and carry out inspections to ensure things are as they should be out on site.

You’ll develop and deliver training, attend meetings and look to maintain a safe and healthy business environment.

Most importantly, you’ll champion the delivery of our services and always look to improve the health and safety environment 🙂

Steve Davies, Housing Repairs Lead says: “We maintain 11,200 homes across the county borough and the health and safety of our employees is vital.

“As a Health and Safety/Compliance Officer, you’ll be contributing to ensuring our working conditions are safe for all our employees.

“We’re one of the largest council housing providers in Wales and we need to look after the health and safety of our teams, ensuring they return home safe to their loved ones at the end of each day.

“This new position will be a very rewarding job for the right person.”

Sounds good so far? Here’s a little bit about the experience you need…

What you need

You need experience of providing advice and support in construction and/or a direct labour organisation.

You need experience of giving advice and guidance to managers at all levels within an organisation as well as front-line operatives.

You also need some qualifications (or be working towards them) – details of these can be found in the full job description.
