Congratulations to Helen Roberts, who has won the June spot of our Wonders of Wrexham Calendar Competition.

Helen took the shot at the end of a long afternoon in the park with her children and friends.

The judges thought it captured those long hot days we had in June, when temperatures soared and the barbecues were out most evenings. Seems a long time ago now!

Helen said: “Acton Park is very close to my heart. This photo was just one of those shots where you really capture the moment and mood, and I am so pleased to have won.

“I have entered several photographs into the competition before, but this one was my favourite and I’m glad the judges agreed with me.

“I can’t wait to see the finished calendar and wish other amateur photographers all the best with their entries.”

Little gems of Wrexham

The competition is all about showcasing those little gems of Wrexham that we all know and love.

One winner is selected each month. Their picture will be used as that month’s feature-photograph in the 2018 calendar.

So far lots of you have entered your favourite photos and we’d love to see even more for the July competition.

Entries should be sent to calendar@wrexham.gov.uk and should reach us by the last day of the month.

There’s no prize for the winners, except all 12 will receive a copy of the calendar when it’s produced, with their photograph and name featured.

All profits from the sale of the calendar will be donated to the Mayor’s chosen charities.

Terms and conditions are available on the council’s main website at www.wrexham.gov.uk
