HWB Cymraeg will once again return as part of FOCUS Wales 2022 bringing more Welsh language events and artists to the line-up of the Wrexham-based international music festival.

You can find all things Cymraeg in the popular teepee spot on Queen Square from Thursday, May 5 to Saturday, May 7.

The line up for this year’s HWB Cymraeg features live performers from the world of Welsh popular music, along with DJs and choirs.

During the day, HWB Cymraeg will host a variety of Welsh language events, including choral performances, film screenings and Welsh learning workshops.

Live performances at the HWB start from 6pm each evening, with the line-up featuring acts such as: Parisa Fouladi, Morgan Elwy, She’s Got Spies and Tapestri.

On Saturday 7 May, Coleg Cambria will launch its new Welsh at Home for parents between 10.30 and 12.30. There’ll be story and rhymes, crafts, treasure hunt and practical tips on supporting bilingualism – the popular Magi Ann will also be making a welcome appearance.

Stephen Jones, Welsh Language Officer for Wrexham Council, said: “It’s great to be back on the Square as part of FOCUS Wales.   It’s really important that Welsh speakers and learners have somewhere to practice and use their Welsh socially and this event along with Saith Seren and Tŷ Pawb, cater this and much more.

“I’d also like to thank FOCUS Wales for their support for HWB Cymraeg, and would encourage anyone who hasn’t visited the HWB in previous years to come and see what we’ve got on this year.”
