In celebration of this year’s Wales and Britain in Bloom successes an awards ceremony was recently held at the Guildhall.

Invited guests and organisations (listed below) were welcomed to the Guildhall and presented with certificates.

Cllr Nigel Williams welcomed participants before handing over to Wrexham Mayor Cllr Beryl Blackmore and chairman of Wales in Bloom Peter Barton-Price to hand out the certificates.

Wrexham Mayor, Cllr Beryl Blackmore said “The pride in Wrexham was certainly on show at the awards ceremony and it was fantastic to be able to reward the great efforts by the groups and organisations for their hard work in improving the look of our communities.”

Lead Member for Economy and regeneration Cllr Nigel Williams said “We’ve had great success in the competition over the past few years and that is testament to the collaborative work between the many fantastic organisations that exist in Wrexham and our staff and officers.”

Chairman of Wales in Bloom Peter Barton-Price said “I’m delighted to be invited to attend and present the local RHS “It’s Your Neighbourhood” and Wrexham’s Participation Certificates.

“Wrexham are to be congratulated for their amazing successes in 2024 – their joint approach of Elected Members, Wrexham County Borough Council Officers and staff and its army of local community groups and volunteers have achieved amazing results not only in Wales but also at a UK National level.

“This has had a massive impact on the city and surrounding areas and I know this will only go to strengthen the delight that Wrexham already is.

“Wales in Bloom and its members are looking forward to seeing you all again this year in 2025.“

“Congratulations! And well done all.”
