Career in care

Are you interested in working in care, but don’t really know where to start? If so, our recruitment event is the perfect opportunity to learn what working in care really looks like, as well as how you can take the next step in your career.

What are the roles? Some reasons, why working in care can be great…

Our informal event takes places on Thursday, March 21, between 1pm-4pm at Acton Community Resource Centre, where you’ll get the opportunity to talk to the people who work in our provider services. You’ll get to hear what working in our team is really like and learn more about the roles and training opportunities available.

Meeting our team is a great way for you to find out about how we work, but it also gives us the chance to learn more about you and the different things you can bring to the table.

We know it can sometimes be difficult to show everything you have to offer on an application form. We agree, and that’s why our Value Based Recruitment focuses on YOU as a person. We’d rather meet you, find out what you’re about and take it from there.

What are the roles?

We currently have a number of opportunities in domiciliary care (covering homecare, community living services and recovery services) and residential care (respite care for adults, respite for children and children’s residential homes).

Social care is much more than personal care and offers variety and new opportunities; working as a Support Worker you could be helping to change lives for the better by supporting adults to live as independently as possible. As a Residential Childcare Officer you could be working to encourage and empower children and young people to improve their self-confidence and sense of worth – how special is that?

Jason, Support Worker, Community Living Service, says: “I enjoy support work because of the activities, getting out and about while supporting someone to live life to the fullest.”

Come along, find out more about these roles, and get an idea of where you will be best suited as part of our team. If you find what you’re looking for, we can support you with your application and help you to get any training you might need.

Want to find out a little bit more? Then pop along and have a chat with us on Thursday, March 21, between 1pm-4pm at Acton Community Resource Centre.

Some reasons, why working in care can be great…

• The feel-good factor: Make a difference and feel great for it!

• A happy, supportive team: Employee well-being programme, open-door management and regular supervisions and development opportunities.

• Pay structure that enables career development: Including other employee benefits like maternity, parental leave, sickness scheme.

• Up to 32 days’ annual leave, based on service: Plenty of time for holidays, home life and rest.

• Work-life balance: Including flexible working.

• Free, high-quality training: Countless courses and qualifications.

• Local Government Pension: Secure and flexible.
