National recognition for Tŷ Pawb

Word has reached us that Tŷ Pawb’s new exhibition “On Paper” has made the Royal Academy of Arts 10 must see Exhibitions in August list – that’s a brilliant achievement for a venue that’s been open for just four months.

On Paper focuses on sculpture, drawing and collage. It features Welsh artists next to internationally known names such as Damian Hurst, Wolfgang Tillmans RA, Roy Lichtenstein and Bridget Riley.

The exhibition, only the second to be shown at Gallery 1, is in line with the over all plans for the venue to be an internationally acknowledged art centre, while still supporting the local people of Wrexham through socially engaged events, projects and performance.

The RAA’s top 10 got to see exhibitions for August features exhibitions in Birmingham, Leeds, Wolverhampton, Edinburgh, Glasgow and the Tate Modern in London – Wrexham’s Tŷ Pawb is certainly in excellent company.

The exhibition will be open until 23 September so why not make time to call in at lunchtime’s or at the weekend?
