Did you know that in Wrexham we have an Information Service for parents and carers to help them access information, advice and support?
Wrexham Family Information Service (WFIS) is now based at Contact Wrexham on Lord Street in the town centre. WFIS has been around for a while but not everyone knows about it. The new and convenient drop-in location officially opened earlier this week.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff will be on hand between 10.30am and 2.30pm Monday to Friday to help you get the support or advice you may need if you have children aged up to 19 or if you’re expecting a child. Outside of these times, parents can ring our public number 01978 292094 or email on fis@wrexham.gov.uk.
The Launch was attended by the Mayor, Cllr Andy Williams, Sioned Wyn Davies, Head of WCBC Corporate and Customer Services, Susan Evans, Head of Department for Children’s Social Services and Cllr William Baldwin, Lead Member for People – Children’s Services.
Cllr William Baldwin, Lead Member for Children’s Services, said: “It’s an excellent service that many parents and carers have taken advantage of over the years. I hope the new drop in service will be more convenient for users and encourage more people to access the help and advice they are looking for.”
WFIS provides information, advice and support to all parents of children (pre-birth up to age 19) on a wide range of family issues.
Why not call in and find more about WFIS, the services they provide and the support they can offer to parents and practitioners in Wrexham. WFIS staff comprise Information Officers and Parent Support Advisors who carry out the crucial role of helping parents who face a number of challenges to find their way to the best sources of support in the community.
