Citizens Advice have developed a new service to raise awareness of online scams and give support to people who have fallen victim to them.
The Scams Action service launched last month and Citizens Advice wants you to get in touch if…
• you think you might have found an online scam
• you’ve been scammed online
• you want to report an online scam
• you’re acting on behalf of someone who’s been scammed online
DON’T GET SCAMMED BY FRAUDSTERS! SIGN UP FOR TIPS AND ALERTS ON SCAMS IN YOUR AREA
In any of these situations, they can advise you and offer support.
You can contact Scams Action by calling 0300 330 3003, or if you prefer you can talk to them through online chat.
There’s a new section on their website to help you check if something is a scam.
You can report a scam on the Scam Action page, but you’re advised to read this beforehand.
Scams Action is open from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, but closed on bank holidays.
