Residents are being reminded that there will be no changes to the Monday bin and recycling collections on the upcoming bank holiday.
Collections will take place as normal on Bank Holiday Monday, August 31, following the reintroduction of Bank Holiday Monday collections.
This means residents should put their bins and recycling containers out on their usual collection day.
However, collection crews are currently starting their rounds earlier, from 6am, to help them avoid working during the hottest part of the day, this will revert back to 7:30am from September 1.
Residents are therefore advised to put their bins and recycling out the night before their usual collection day wherever possible, to make sure they are ready for the earlier collections.
Councillor David A Bithell, Lead Member for Environment said, “I’m really pleased that we’re able to reintroduce collections on Bank Holiday Mondays, it will be much easier for residents to understand and remove any confusion about what happens to Monday collections on Bank holidays.
This will help to provide a much more consistent service throughout the year.
We also hope that providing that consistency will help improve recycling levels, by making sure residents continue to have regular opportunities to recycle their household waste.
The main message this August Bank Holiday is that there is no change to your normal collection day. If you usually have a Monday collection, please put your bins and recycling out as normal.

Bank Holiday Monday collections are being reintroduced from August 31, meaning households with a usual Monday collection will now have their collections as normal.
Residents can check their collection days and sign up for bin reminders on the Wrexham County Borough Council website.
