The Council Plan has been revised and agreed by Full Council, and is now available on the website.
In this plan you’ll find our well-being objectives and improvement plans for the County Borough, and all of us who live here.
As a council we provide many services to you including bin collections and recycling, schools, roads, social care, planning and country parks. And we need to make sure that we provide these services in the best and most sustainable ways.

With this in mind, two big things have changed since we last published a council plan:
- We have taken another look at what we need to achieve and made sure we are being realistic under the influence of a global pandemic
- We have focused on six areas as a priority:
- Developing the economy
- Ensuring everyone is safe
- Ensuring a modern and resilient council
- Improving the environment
- Improving secondary education
- Promoting good health and well-being
Cllr Mark Pritchard, Lead Member for Organisation – Finance, Performance, Health and Safety and Governance, said: “As a Council, our vision for the future is that everyone living in Wrexham is supported to fulfil their potential, prosper and achieve a high standard of well-being. We will be a strong and inclusive community leader to help make this happen. The Council Plan is aspirational and shows you how we will achieve this”.
Ian Bancroft, chief executive of Wrexham County Borough Council, said: “The global coronavirus pandemic has affected every aspect of our lives and it was important to revise the Council Plan. We have a clear vision, plan and priorities on where we need to focus as a Council to ensure the people, place and economy of Wrexham is able to be resilient in responding and recovering from this unprecedented emergency.”
