Proposals are in the pipeline to increase capacity at a town primary school.
Next week, our Executive Board will look at plans to increase pupil capacity at Barker’s Lane CP School, Borras, Wrexham.
The proposal includes extending the existing school building so it can accommodate a further 105 pupils, at 15 pupils per year group.
The first year of the increase would be September 2020, with nursery and reception classes each taking an extra 15 pupils.
The annual admission number would go up each year, until the maximum capacity of 315 pupils – plus 45 at nursery – is reached.
The proposal comes after consultation with the school community at Barkers Lane, which ran from October 18 to December 12 last year.
The proposals to increase capacity at Barkers Lane will be discussed at the next meeting of the Executive Board on Tuesday, March 12.
