Following the recent flooding incidents in Wrexham residents woke up to snow falling across the county borough.

We currently have all the usual resources out and operating in the normal manner. The out of office number is 01978 292055.

We’ve also put additional resource in place to assist with the response and recovery at the two critical incidents in Bangor on Dee and the Lower Dee Valley.

Our Winter Maintenance team are out and will continue to  plough and treat priority routes across the county borough.

This team worked through the night to manage the cold conditions, snow is forecast until this evening when temperatures will again drop. Our team are out responding and this will continue throughout the day and night.

Whilst we have had resources out all our the weekend, recovery work will begin in earnest from Monday. We have a log of incidents and issues and we will deal with these in the coming days.

Our initial actions will be to ensure areas are made safe. Further, our engineers and street scene teams will begin to evaluate and consider how and where further interventions are required.

All incidents requiring more detailed longer term work will be evaluated and prioritised and we will ensure that this information is shared as soon as it is available. Many incidents will require a multi-agency response and where this is required our team will liaise as a matter of course.

Other emergency numbers are:

  • Council housing repairs – 01978 298993
  • Social services (emergency duty team) – 0345 053 3116
  • Telecare – 01978 292055
