Residents in Wrexham with a Delta Wellbeing Telecare personal alarm system are asked to be alert to a scam that’s been brought to our attention.
The scammer asks users to hand over money on the phone to purchase new systems ready for the change to digital services announced by Ofcom.
The system used in Wrexham is compatible with the new digital services and users should ignore the calls or emails. A planned rolling upgrade scheme will be operated by Wrexham Council in the future, and users will be contacted via letter before this takes place.
Users can be assured that only Wrexham Council or Delta Wellbeing will contact them about their service now or in the future.
