The Senedd Yr Ifanc (Wrexham Youth Parliament) continues to look at the important issues affecting young people in Wrexham, and has one new consultation and one new ballot they need young people to take part in.

CAHMS consultation

CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) supports children and young people who have difficulties with their emotional or behavioural wellbeing. These include eating disorders, autistic spectrum disorder, attention deficit hypersensitive disorder (ADHD), depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and psychosis.

The Senedd has come together with CAMHS to work on a project in Wrexham, and they are currently running a young people’s consultation for 10 – 25 years.

The consultation aims to further develop the CAMHS environment for children and young people by asking questions like ‘if you were to attend a CAMHS appointment what else would help you feel more comfortable and at ease?’

CAHMS want to hear young people’s opinions even if they haven’t used its services before.

Your voice matters. Please tell them what you think by taking part.

This consultation will be live until November 20, 2020.

Senedd Yr Ifanc and Protecting Nature – Ballot

Reducing Climate Change was the top priority for the Senedd Yr Ifanc in their 2019 ballot voted by 477 young people (27.3%).

To find out which area of reducing Climate Change the young people wanted the Senedd to focus they created a poll with six options.

Protecting Nature came out on top, voted on by 36.36% of the young people.

The Senedd would now like you to support them by voting which area you think can have the most impact on ‘Protecting Nature’ in Wrexham.

This is a quick ballot for 11 – 25-year olds.

Which area do you feel the Senedd Yr Ifanc can have the most impact on in Wrexham?

• Green Spaces
• Tree and Wild Flower Planting
• River Management
• Crops and Pesticides
• Preserving Life
• Clean Up
• Conserving Nature
• Other

Let them know by taking part.
