Spider Park

A community tree planting event will take place on Saturday 21st January at Spider Park, Acton from 10am. We are committed to protecting trees and woodlands throughout the county as part of the Tree and Woodland Strategy and the Wrexham Woodland Pledge.

We will be planting small and standard trees within Spider Park throughout January and February to bring much needed habitat and connectivity for urban wildlife.

We have 2 sessions that you can get involved in, the morning session will run 10-12pm and the afternoon session will run 1-3pm so please join us and help plant a tree for a greener future.

Participants are asked to wear warm clothes and wellies, and bring hats, scarves and gloves to keep warm. Please meet near St. John’s Church on Herbert Jennings Avenue.

If you would like to comment on any of the proposed areas you can email woodlandpledge@wrexham.gov.uk You can also lend your support for the protection of trees and woodlands within Wrexham through the Wrexham Woodland Pledge on our website Wrexham Woodland Pledge | Wrexham County Borough Council and through facebook and twitter.

Last year we had similar success in Acton Park where children and adults from local schools and communities helping to plant 1500 trees, funded through Trees for Cities.

We are extremely grateful to Trees for Cities who are supporting this tree planting scheme and for the positive feedback and support we have received from the local community and the hard work of Borras Park, Wats Dyke, Alexandra and Rhosddu Primary Schools and Rhosnesni High School.

When it comes to the cost of living, making sure you claim all the help and support you’re entitled to could make a huge difference.
