The White Ribbon campaign is an international movement which works with men and boys, challenging cultures that lead to the harassment, abuse and violence of women and girls.

We’re one of a number of public organisations that takes part in the campaign, and to promote its message of ending violence against women.

Wrexham & Prestige Taxis, on Brook Street, Wrexham, have added their support to the campaign by placing promotional stickers displaying some of its messages in their taxis.

Sgt Alison Sharp, of North Wales Police, said: “The White Ribbon campaign has incredibly important things to say, and thanks to the involvement of Wrexham Private Hire and Taxi Companies, including Wrexham & Prestige Taxis, we’ll be able to get its message to a much wider audience than before, encouraging the non-acceptance of violence against women and girls, and hopefully reducing and preventing this often hidden crime.”

Carla Small, General Manager from Wrexham & Prestige Taxis said, “We look forward to working alongside Wrexham Country Borough Council and North Wales police to spread the message for this fantastic campaign. All of our vehicles will have the White Ribbon sticker on show to show support and raise awareness”

Joss Thomas, Licensing Officer for Wrexham Council, said: “I’m very pleased to see Wrexham private hire and taxi companies taking part in the White Ribbon campaign.

“While public bodies such as the council and the police are always well-placed to tackle issues of violence against women, our work will always be improved when our partners and service providers help us reach out to audiences which might otherwise be difficult to reach, and we are very grateful for their involvement in the campaign.”
