Your vote matters; don't lose it

In Wales, there are about 400,000 people who are either not correctly registered to vote at their current address or are not registered at all.

Over the last few weeks, you should have received a letter from us asking you to confirm your details. Please don’t ignore it! By completing this form you’ll be all set to vote when election time comes around.

Checking details like this is called the annual canvass and you can find out more about it by reading this article about making sure you can vote.

As more and more people in Wales have become eligible to vote, it’s important to make sure that you are not one of the 400,000 who aren’t yet registered.

Ian Bancroft, electoral registration officer at Wrexham Council, said: “The annual canvass is our way of making sure that the information on the electoral register for every address is accurate. Please keep an eye out for communications form Wrexham Council and follow the instructions to make sure you don’t lose your say at the next election.

“If you don’t hear from the council, you might not be on the register. If you want to register, the easiest way is online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.”

You have until November 30 to let us know if anything on your form has changed.
