Wrexham Dementia Friends art group has had their work unveiled at St. Margaret’s Church.

The church approached the group to create a picture to replace the one hanging over the entrance door to the community centre and they have worked together to create a design called Tree of Life, which they felt was appropriate for both organisations.

All members of the art group are either living with dementia or caring for someone who is, and everyone – including volunteers – contributed in some way to the painting.

The painting was officially unveiled on Wednesday, June 12, by the Mayor of Wrexham.

The image of the Tree of Life was chosen to show how we are all connected to life, and while life is fragile the support of others to those affected by dementia means they can live a fulfilled life. Producing this painting physically demonstrates that they can enjoy a craft that many of us will admire.
