In just a few short weeks we’ll find out who will host UK City of Culture in 2025.
The competition is now between Wrexham County, Bradford, Southampton and Durham.
Hopefully you have seen our logo and branding around the county as well as our #Wrecsam2025 #tag on social media.
We still need our amazing community support and voices to back the bid. Talk to your friends, talk to your neighbours, talk to your colleagues and share your thoughts on Wrexham using the #tag #Wrecsam2025 on social media.
As Part of the City of Culture #Wrecsam2025 bidding process, today we welcome Arts Minister Lord Parkinson of Whitley Bay.
Lord Parkinson will take a short tour of the county so we can showcase snippets of our culture and heritage. The visit will also give us an opportunity to champion our bid to become UK City of Culture in 2025.
Chief Executive of WCBC Ian Bancroft said: “It’s an absolute pleasure to welcome Lord Parkinson and the DCMS team. Wrexham is an amazing place to live, work and visit, and in becoming UK City of Culture we will be able to develop our offering even further and rise together as a county.
DCMS Will be sharing news on the visit across their social media platforms:
Twitter: @DCMS
Facebook and Instagram: /dcmsgovuk
LinkedIN: Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport
We will be sharing images and content on the WCBC Twitter @WrexhamCBC using the #tag #Wrecsam2025 #cityofculture2025
