Today we raised the Armed Forces Day flags above the Guildhall to show our support for the men and women who make up our armed forces community.

This year’s national events take place on Saturday, June 29.

“Wrexham has many strong links with the armed forces”

The Mayor, Cllr Beryl Blackmore, said, “Once again we are flying the Armed Forces Flag to recognise and thank our armed forces and their families for the sacrifices they make in the service of their country.

“We have many strong links with the armed forces and when there are events either celebratory or commemorative people line the streets or gather in numbers to recognise the important role they play in our communities.”

“This was seen earlier this month when we all came together to commemorate the 80 anniversary of the D-Day landings.

“To those who are attending national events I wish them all a safe and enjoyable trip.”
