Today we raised the Armed Forces Day flags above the Guildhall to show our support for the men and women who make up our armed forces community.
This year’s national events take place on 24 June in Cornwall and Newport in South Wales.
“Wrexham has many strong links with the armed forces”
They Mayor, Cllr Andy Williams, said, “We fly the Armed Forces day flag every year to recognise and thank the armed forces and their families for the sacrifices they make in service of their country.”
“Wrexham has many strong links with the armed forces and when there are events either celebratory or commemorative people line the streets or gather in numbers to recognise the important role they play in our communities.”
“This year many service personnel, veterans and their families from Wrexham will attend one of the national events and I wish them all a safe and enjoyable trip.”
