Friday January 27 is Holocaust Memorial Day. On this day we are asked to pause to pay tribute to those persecuted and killed during the Holocaust and other genocides throughout the world.
Mark Pritchard, Leader of Wrexham Council, said: “We are a very diverse city, and we will always stand up to inequality and inhumanity in all its forms.”
“It’s so important that we never forget the horrors of the Holocaust, and timely reminders such as marking Holocaust Memorial Day are vital in making sure that we don’t forget the tragedies of the past.”
Cllr Paul Roberts, Lead member for Partnerships and Community Safety said: “On Holocaust Memorial Day we take time to remember the millions of people murdered in the Holocaust, under Nazi Persecution, and in the genocides which followed in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia, and Darfur. Illuminating the Guildhall is our way of showing that we won’t forget the victims.
