We’ll be keeping an eye on the weather and our gritting teams will be out treating surfaces where appropriate.

Bin collections

As January 1 was a bank holiday, refuse pick-ups for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are a day later this week. So if you usually have a pick up on Friday, this will be on Saturday this week.

Should the weather impact this we’ll give as much advanced notice as we can. You can check your bin collection date on our website.

Reporting issues

We’ll keep you informed about any changes to council services via social media and this news blog.

In the meantime, here’s a reminder about how to report issues…

Please only phone if it’s urgent – for other issues, please help us by reporting issues online:

  • General issues
  • Housing repairs

Any issues with power-outages can be reported by calling 105 (Powercut 105 is a free service that will put you through to your local network operator for help and support).

Remember that if there’s an immediate threat to life during any adverse weather event, you should always call 999.
