Sian Hughes, longlisted nominee for the Booker Prize 2023, will be launching this year’s literary festival at Wrexham Library on Wednesday 27 March, 7pm. 

Award winning poet Sian was longlisted for the Booker Prize 2023 for her brilliant first novel Pearl set just over the border in Tilston, Cheshire. Sian will talk about her inspiration for her fabulous novel and what it means to be longlisted for a prestigious book award.  

Bestselling crime author and judge of the festival’s Murder Mystery competition, Simon McCleave, will also be announcing this year’s winner of the Murder Mystery competition at this opening event.  For more details about the Carnival of Words and to buy your tickets please visit www.wrexhamcarnivalofwords.com.
