Wrexham Council buys properties from local developer

The properties are two bedroom and have a lounge, kitchen diner, downstairs toilet, plenty of storage, a driveway and a secure spacious garden.

This is the first purchase of its kind for the Council, who are delivering a Build and Buy Programme which includes also, buying back ex local authority properties, building new council housing and working with developers to provide social housing on new build developments.

Michael Forgrave, Managing Director of Gower Homes said “It’s a pleasure to be working with Wrexham Council on this project to provide high quality social housing, to support the local community.”

Cllr David Griffiths, Lead Member for Housing, said “We are very proud to be working in partnership with local developer, Gower Homes, to provide new homes for our tenants. This is a new step for the Council and we hope to develop many more new houses in the future.”

Cllr Gwenfair Jones, local member for Gwersyllt West said ‘ The properties at Maes Gwyrdd will provide lifetime homes for our tenants,  I am proud to have these new build houses in my ward, which will soon be filled with tenants from our Housing Waiting List.’
