Young Carers meeting

Young Carers from Wrexham have been co-designing a Celebration event with Done Together CIC, a newly formed social enterprise helping businesses achieve their goals and the local team of staff from Credu supporting young and adult carers.

‘We are celebrating the incredible contributions of Young Carers and Young Carer Allies from Wrexham. Nominations are due to close soon and we are excited to see the energy that is being created and the chance to recognise the exceptional, the kind, the everyday thoughtfulness and the above and beyond impact of individual young carers and allies from our community who support young carers in their jobs, as citizens and as family members.’ said Sally Duckers, Credu WCD Team Leader

The event is being held at Brymbo Sports Club in January. The theme for the event is Stars, an uplifting theme for a dark and cold period of the year. The project will also give Young Carers learning a musical instrument with Wrexham Sounds a stage to perform on as well as an opportunity for a Young Carers choir to come together and sing.

Young Carers are also working with Artist Jamila Thomas from Arts Connection to create star themed designs and share inspirational quotes to dress the hall in positivity.

‘The young carers come up with brilliant ideas and are so grateful for the support friends, family and other professionals have shown them’ said Leanne Jeffreys, Credu Outreach Worker ‘ I am really looking forward to the evening and giving some of these amazing young people a chance to shine’

This project has received £16,398.98 from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, supported by Cadwyn Clwyd, AVOW and Wrexham County Council. #UKSPF
