Wrexham Council has welcomed additional train services being introduced by Transport for Wales (TfW) this December.

The changes will see more services from Wrexham, including a new hourly service between Chester and Wrexham – doubling frequency to two trains per hour.

On Mondays to Saturdays, there will also be new trains at 5:54 from Bidston to Wrexham General, and at 20:51 from Wrexham Central to Bidston.

The council has been working with TfW to support these changes, which will come into effect on December 14.

Councillor David A Bithell, Lead Member with responsibility for strategic transport, said: “This is excellent news and the additional train services will offer big benefits for local people, and anyone commuting to and from Wrexham.

“Good transport connectivity is vital for any city, and we’ve been working closely with TfW to support these enhancements to local services.”
