Tŷ Pawb will host the Help for Heroes mini installation of #40ThousandStrong tomorrow.

The #40ThousandStrong campaign was launched last year and aims to highlight the numbers of men and women medically discharged from our Armed Forces over the last 20 years. It also seeks to improve the lives of those men and women affected by illness or injury.

The Wrexham activation event is also an opportunity to meet Help for Heroes’ Community Recovery team –  the charity’s Veterans’ Clinical Liaison, a 1-2-1 keyworker, Sports Recovery Coordinator and BoB/BoS Fellowship Coordinator.

You can find out about the monthly hub Help for Heroes runs with Models for Heroes volunteers at the VC Hub in Shotton, or learn about some of the family-friendly activities which will take place across Wales and Hereford in the coming months.

Veteran and Invictus Games medallist Allie McClellan will be there, sharing the story of her medical discharge and talking about the power of sport in her recovery journey, after a stroke ended her military career.  She’s taking on an epic cycling challenge, the distance from her home in Wales, to Sydney, where her life changed forever in the 2018 Games.

Everyone is welcome to go along to Tŷ Pawb to find out more about the support Help for Heroes offers, and cheer Allie on as she racks up the miles on her static bike, raising funds for Help for Heroes, The Royal British Legion, and Velindre Cancer Centre as she goes.

“The #40ThousandStrong event takes place on Saturday, February 15 between 10am and 2pm”
