Our Executive Board met yesterday and agreed, noted or approved several items of business.

You might have already seen that they agreed to go ahead with plans to build a new 210 Welsh medium Primary school in Borras  and to consult on permanently increasing the number of pupils at Ysgol Bro Alun.

They also gave the thumbs up to the Annual Director’s Report which gives you, the public, a clear picture of how Social Services in Wrexham are doing. Second sentence deleted

The Governance Agreement and the North Wales Growth Bid was approved and will now go to full Council on Thursday for their approval.

Members also received an update to the council’s rolling five-year Capital Programme which details the capital schemes in the County Borough.

Last financial year, the total capital expenditure was £67m with around £49m of that going towards improving housing. It is planned to spend around £71m overall this year, with £50m earmarked for housing.

There will also be an increase in funding for disabled facilities grants of £1.3m and for improving the efficiency of our streetlighting.

There are also improvements and refurbishments to our schools, bridges and roads. The list is too long to list here so you may like to take a look for yourself here.

Other reports included the Treasury Management and Quarter 4 Performance report; and the Updated Local Planning Guidance Note on parking, which was adopted and now provides better guidance to planning applicants, developers and architects on maximum parking standards that will apply to proposals for Houses in Multiple Occupation.

The Executive Board meets monthly and members of the public are encouraged to attend.
